Fernox Leak Sealer F4 is used throughout domestic heating systems for sealing small inaccessible leaks. Leak Sealer F4 works best in warm/hot circulating water and once evenly dispersed will usually be effective within 1 - 24 hours. The sealing efficiency of Leak Sealer F4 has been intentionally limited to prevent blockage of safety devices, pumps, etc. For long term protection against corrosion the system should also be treated with a Fernox Protector.
Fernox Leak Sealer is a Polymer Emulsion.

HELLO UK PLUMBING - I HAVE A 8 RADIATOR CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM.
I ADDED 4 LITRES OF FERNOX MB-1 TO THE HEADER TANK IN MAY 2002 SO I THINK I WILL BE DUE TO ADD SOME MORE BUT HOW MUCH THE SAME AGAIN? A NAIL TEST OF THE EXISTING SOLUTION IS NOT SHOWING MUCH RUSTING.
ALSO IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE THAT I CAN ADD WITH THE FERNOX TO PREVENT LEAKS.
I HAVE HAD TWO SEPARATE COSLY LEAKS IN MY INCOMING COLD WATER SYSTEM OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS. THEY WERE IN COPPER PIPING ABOUT 50 YEARS OLD EMBEDDED DOWN IN CONCRETE. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I CAN INJET INTO THIS OLD PIPEWORK TO PREVENT OR MINIMISE FURTHER LEAKAGES.
Thank you for your enquiry - Please find product page link for the Fernox MB-1 which I
would think after 10 years could use the full 4 litres.
and also page link for the internal leak sealer which can be applied in the same way but please
note that this is for the heating circuit and not mains water.
To be honest I do not think there is a real solution for incoming mains pipes apart
