Kamco Scalebreaker SR 2.5kg
  • Descaling crystals for limescale deposits.
  • Non-flammable & non-volatile.

Safe to handle and store, but a strong acid when dissolved in water. Non fuming. Safe to use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, brass, aluminium, PVC, polythene and most plastics / rubbers. Dissolves up to 50% of its own weight of scale.

Application & usage

Dissolve SCALEBREAKER SR in warm water at a concentration of 25 to 150g per litre of water. Lower concentrations require higher water temperatures for maximum descaling effect. The prepared solution may be used to soak equipment / plant to be descaled, although the process is significantly faster when the solution is circulated vigorously by means of a suitable pump, such as scalebreaker descaling pumps.

When limescale is being dissolved, carbon dioxide gas is evolved and may cause foaming, dependent on the amount of scale present, and allowance should be made for the volume of foam when descaling commences.

Should this be a problem, add Kamco foambreaker. Descaling may be considered complete when there is no further evolution of carbon dioxide (seen as bubbling in the solution, or in the return hose to a pump) and the scalebreaker solution is still pink. If deposits have not completely removed, and the solution has changed colour to amber / yellow, add further SCALEBREAKER SR, or repeat the cleansing process.

After descaling, drain the scalebreaker solution, neutralise if required with Kamco neutralising crystals and flush the descaled equipment thoroughly with water.
