Kamco Neutralising Crystals 2.5KG
  • For neutralising acid descaling chemicals before disposal.

Neutralising Crystals are added to the CLEARFLOW® tank after the final power flush 'dump' (when water leaving the dump hose is crystal clear), and circulated briefly to ensure neutralisation of any residues after use of Power Flush FX2.

Application & usage.

Subsequent to the descaling operation, drain off the spent descaling chemical, and flush the descaled equipment with fresh water. Many natural waters are slightly alkaline, and water flushing may be all that is required.

Alternatively, circulate a 0.5 to 1% solution of NEUTRALISING CRYSTALS through the equipment for 10 minutes, drain, and then flush with clean water once more.

The spent descaling solution may be neutralised prior to disposal by using NEUTRALISING CRYSTALS. It is suggested that the spent descaling solution is collected in plastic containers, leaving at least a quarter of the container volume as free space.

Carefully add NEUTRALISING CRYSTALS to the solution through a funnel until the pH is brought up to a value of 6 to 7, and then flush to drain. A pH meter, or pH indicator paper, may be used to check the pH of the descaling solution. (Once the pH has risen to 3.5 to 4, its ability to dissolve limescale and corrosion deposits is effectively spent - note that the pH of Ribena and Coca Cola are approximately 2.6).

If foaming of the solution, as it is being neutralised, is a problem, add a few ml. of FOAMBREAKER to the solution.
